Genting Launching Online Gambling Website In UK On Friday

Internet gambling will score a major victory on Friday in their attempt to rebound from the poor efforts of the United States to ban the industry. Genting, is entering the world of online gambling in the UK.

Genting, one of the world leader;'s in gaming, will launch CircusCasino.com. The company, which owns casino chain Stanley Leisure in the UK, will be helping the entire online industry by entering.

The Asian online gambling market could soon become an important one for Genting. Several countries in Asia are looking into changing existing laws to allow online gambling. The new site will be a starting point from which Genting can experiment before the Asian market opens up.

"This is obviously a good opportunity in its own right, but it allows you to play around and trial a lot of things to prepare you if Asia opens up," said a gambling insider to Reuters.

Genting has a large database of customers that gamble in their live casinos. That will help them make the transition into one of the most competitive industry's in the world.

The company will be competing with several sites that still take gamblers from the United States, even after the ban. Genting will be launching their new site in London's Mayfair on Thursday at its Beach Club casino.

The United States, meanwhile, took another step backwards in keeping up with the rest of the world on Wednesday. A Bill to regulate the online industry was defeated by members of Congress who did not fully understand what they were voting on.

The immediate ramifications for the U.S. from the vote are that children will continue to be preyed upon by illegal online gambling sites, and billions of dollars in revenue will be lost.
