The United States has been at the forefront of the issue of online gambling, but they are not the only country in the World that online gambling is illegal.

China is a country in which gambling is illegal, and now it appears 32 people will have to defend themselves over allegations of being involved in a multi million dollar illegal gambling operation.

The arrests were made in China's Liaoning province and the operation is said to involve over $770 million dollars, not quite a small operation.

There are still more than 50 additional people who are involved in the case, but they are all on the run from the government.

the two leaders of the operation Yang Zu and Wang Jun, as well as up to eight other people are under further investigation and will be charged at a later date, which, in all, could bring the total number of arrests over the 100 person mark.

The ring was allegedly started in 2005 when Xu and his wife Jun, began operating illegal gambling sites.

In less than two years, the criminal gang rose to more than 100 people. The Chinese government has been very clear in their message about internet gambling.

Four government ministries released a circular saying, "The prevalence of online gambling has ruined the online environment and harmed young people's growth, which runs against the policy of building a harmonious society."
