The iPhone 4 has applications and features that its predecessors did not have, and the buzz around the new phones from Apple has been extraordinary. On the first day that the phones were released, people were reporting some problems with their new purchase.

The most pressing problems that have been reported have to do with signal strength. Screen discoloration and antenna problems have also been on the top of complaints pouring into Apple. many of these problems have already been identified and resolved by the company.

One group that has had no such problems is online gamblers in Europe. Gamblers that have grown accustomed to accessing their favorite online poker rooms claim that it has been an easy transition to the new iPhone 4.

"I was using an older version of the iPhone and frequently went online to check my account balances and sometimes play poker," said Simon Welder. "Today, i switched to the new iPhone (4), and I am able to do everything within my online poker site that I was able to do before."

Online gambling has become an important factor in developing new mobile device technology. Many countries have relaxed their Internet gambling laws, and that has led to millions of gamblers using mobile devices to do their gaming.

The US has not yet softened their stance on Internet gambling, but change could be coming. Representative Barney Frank has introduced legislation that would overturn the Unlawful Internet gambling Enforcement Act, and set up a regulated online gambling industry in the country.

If that occurs, Apple and other mobile device providers are prepared with the capabilities to develop applications for online casinos. Rep. Frank is expected to bring his legislation before the House Finance Committee later this year or early in 2011.
