Miss California The Betting Favorite To Win Miss USA Pageant

The Miss USA pageant has evolved in the past several decades as the times have changed. The latest controversy surrounding the pageant is a lingerie shoot that contestants took part in this year. Traditionalists are upset about the racy nature of the photos.

Another thing that has changed over the years is gamblers ability to bet on the pageant. Online gambling websites have set up specific pages where gamblers can go to pick which of the contestants will win. This year, Miss California is the odds makers choice to take home the crown.

Nicole Michele Johnson is the contestant from California, a state that has had many Miss USA winners in the past. several online sports books have given this year's Miss California odds of 5/1 to win.

Nebraska is another state that has had success in this pageant in the past, and on Sunday, Miss Nebraska, Belinda Wright, will be the second choice for bettors. Miss Nebraska has odds of 8/1. All other contestants have odds of at least 10/1.

Any gambler looking for a long shot in this year's competition, several are available. Miss Nevada, Julianna Erdesz is a 100/1 choice, and Miss District of Columbia, MacKenzie green, has odds of 200/1.

As for the racy lingerie photo shoot, well-known owner of the Miss USA pageant, Donald Trump, sees no problem. As far as Trump is concerned, the bottom line is that people are watching and ratings are soaring.

"We are in a different age," said Trump, to The Insider. "They (photos) are a little bit sexy but I'll tell you what, everybody's watching, so I have no problem with it. If you look at Miss America, it's now off network television, and we're doing better than ever, so I really have no problem with it."
