Online Gambling Could Be Heavy With Wet Fourth Of July Expected
Online gambling is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of entertainment in the world. That means that when people are home for long weekends due to holidays, online casinos usually see an increase in business.
Fourth of July is today and for people in the US that usually means barbecues by the pool or at the beach. It is the summer, however, and that means that rain is always a possibility. With heavy rain forecast in many states throughout the country, online casinos could see a spike in action.
"Typically online casinos see an increase of around twenty-five percent when there is a major holiday," said gaming analyst Harvey Braun, "and when the weather is bad for that holiday, that figure could increase to as much as thirty to forty percent."
One thing that will be pushing people away from the online casinos this Fourth of July will be the World Series of Poker. The Main Event began on Friday, and many people have decided to make a vacation out of the event because they had a long, three or four day weekend.
Online casinos are luring players with some big slot tournaments. Golden Casino and Online Vegas, both part of the Vegas Technologies network of casinos, are hosting a $144,444 guaranteed prize pool tournament. They are playing the tournament on their Independence Day slot game.
