Online Gambling Guru Takes Aim at the USA
In a stunning interview, the new CEO of SportingBet Plc. announced with confidence, that his company will increase marketing efforts towards US-based players despite a crackdown on offshore gambling companies by US officials.
Andrew McIver, the new CEO of SportingBet Plc. and long-time online gambling expert, said his company will continue attracting American players in an effort to grow their online casino gambling business. In the interview, Mr. McIver says the US is the only market worthy of top investment capital.
"In my opinion, the US market is the only area worthy of increased investment capital at the moment", said Mr. McIver.
The online gambling industry has seen one problem after another this summer, beginning with the arrest of David Carruthers, the former CEO of BetonSports.com back in July. Then came the arrest of Peter Dicks, the chairman of SportingBet.
Once that happened, the industry thought they had seen it all, but that was followed by the capture of 2 executives of an Austrian gaming company in France this past week.
High-Roller Calvin Ayre, the CEO of Bodog.com recently cancelled his latest Bodog marketing conference in the Bahamas due to the risky regulatory climate.
While most online gambling companies are decreasing their committments in the US market, SportingBet is planning to ramp up efforts to generate new business from American casino players.
