Online Gambling Operations Being Thwarted By DSI in Thailand

Gambling online on soccer matches has become the wagering of choice by many people across the world. Soccer is the world's most popular sport, so it makes sense that there would be a lot of gambling activity.

In many of the countries in which the gambling is taking place, it is illegal. Countries have tried to stop the online gambling, but not many have succeeded.

Now the Department of Special Investigation has thrown their hat into the ring as another agency that will try to thwart the illegal online operations. The agency is planning to seek out and arrest people associated with gambling websites.

Information has come to the attention of the ministry and they are planning to work together with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to not only find these people, but to seize their assets and arrest them.

Thailand is one of the worst areas in the world for online gambling. It is projected that over 10,00 people are engaging in online gambling in the country. With soccer being as popular as it is, and gambling being equally popular, it is understood how the two could find their way together.

Websites are currently being investigated, and they will be shut down if evidence is found that connects them to illegal gambling.
