Online Gambling Study: 81% of Online Gamblers Worry About Security
According to independent UK consumer research commissioned by PayPoint.net, 81 per cent of online gamers worry about the security risks they're taking, and almost two thirds (61 per cent) worry about what to do if they encounter a problem gambling online. In particular, customers need reassurance their personal information and bank details are safe.
Security concerns also colour customers' views of how winnings are returned to them.
40 per cent of respondents expressed concern over the security around the payment of winnings, pointing to increased expectations that winnings will be paid directly on to players' cards.

About the research:
PayPoint commissioned independent market research company Dynamic Markets to interview 2,000 UK adults as a part of a telephone omnibus survey. The sample of screened to survey online shoppers, resulting in a sample of 945 interviews. Fieldwork took place between 13th-19th June 2008. The sample was them demographically weighted to make it representative of the UK population.
