Paddy Power Ad Campaign For Bingo Gambling Site Shelved by TFL
Paddy Power has taken somewhat of a shock approach to their ad campaigns. In the past, the company has had ads banned because of their inappropriateness. Their latest attempt will also end up wasted after it has been banned from the London Underground Tube Network.
This is not the first time the Bookmaker has been banned for its ads. The ASA has previously banned two campaigns. The premise behind the bans are the potential to cause widespread offense.
The two ads in question this time are targeting women. Paddy Power was trying to push women to their website paddypowerbingo.com. One ad features a man with his nipple exposed trying to breast feed a child. The caption read, "Where have all the women gone."
The other ad has a plate of junk food, snacks, chocolate, and sweets, instead of a dinner meal. The idea is to lure women to the bingo site, but the ads were too cutting edge according to officials.
While the company has repeatedly been shot down with their campaigns, they vow that they will go back to the drawing board and come up with something equally as effective as the banned ads.
The Dublin based agency, Cawley Nea/TBWA was the creator of the most recently banned ads.
