PartyGaming Has Online Casino Revenue Rise in Third Quarter
PartyGaming, which is the owner of online poker site PartyPoker has seen a 70% increase in casino player numbers from last year, the overall third quarter numbers were $115.7 million.
Earlier this year, PartyGaming bought Intercontinental Online Gaming and Empire Online for $66.6 million, and those acquisitions apparently helped the group increase revenue numbers since last year.
The game of choice used to be Blackjack, but the company has steered people away from that game and turned them towards more lucrative games like Roulette.
Poker revenues for the company were down 3%, but that was to be expected since the company was handcuffed by the lack of U.S. players after new laws went into affect after Legislative bills were passed.
Their new player sign up was also down 14% from last year, but that was also to be expected since the third quarter is usually a slow time for new player sign ups.
The sportsbook end of the company saw a drastic increase after having below par numbers for the second quarter, but that can be contributed to the start of the football seasons.
