PayPal Setting Up For Return To Online Casino Market
Companies around the world are starting to see the writing on the wall. Representative Barney Frank is picking up major support in his efforts to legalize online gambling in the US, and the rest of the world is preparing for a possible move into the US market.
PayPal, a payment processing company, had stopped taking gambling related transactions for fear of violating laws in the US. Now, PayPal has once again started to take online casino transactions in the UK.
The company may be setting themselves up for when the laws change in the US. They are among a growing list of companies who are positioning themselves for a possible return into the online gambling market in the US.
"Many of these companies understand the amount of support Rep. Frank is receiving and what it could mean to their bottom line in the future," said observer Manny Lopez, "at the same time, they have to be careful they do not do anything that will upset the US government before those changes are made."
One company with hopes of returning to the US is PartyGaming. The largest online gambling provider in the world recently settled their legal disputes with the US, clearing the way for discussions should online gambling become regulated in the US.
Representative Frank is up to fifty-four co-sponsors for his proposed legislation that would lay the groundwork for regulation and legalization of Internet gambling. His supporters come from both sides of the political aisle.
