State Lottery Study Has California as Nation's Best Lottery
California has sports teams that routinely are among the most financially successful. Many celebrities call the state home. Politically, they are among the leaders in the nation. Now, they also have the most productive lottery, according to a new study.
A mathematics professor from San Antonio College in Texas has compiled a study on state lotteries. The results are that California is the leader in several lottery practices.
The professor, Gerald Busald, had help from students in his statistics class to compile data. The main focus of the study was scratch off tickets. The determination was that Americans spend the most amount of money on this form of the lottery.
Most of the states ranked well in giving money to helping individuals with gambling problems. In Minnesota, the study gave high regard to the state's cap of $10 scratch off tickets.
Pennsylvania was second in the study. Texas and Iowa were numbers three and four. The aforementioned Minnesota was fifth.
Other things that were studied were online games, state lottery Web sites, and money spent from lottery winnings.
