WMS to Buy Orion Gaming for $30.5M
Slot machine maker WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE: WMS) said Wednesday it agreed to acquire Netherlands-based gaming machine maker Orion Financement Co. for roughly 24 million euro ($30. 5 million).
As part of the deal, which is expected to close this summer, WMS will pay $19 million in cash and stock, and $11. 5 million to retire existing Orion debt. Diamond I, Inc. (OTCBB: DMOI), a developer of wireless gaming products, including the WifiCasino GS(TM) wireless hand-held gaming system, recently announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Touchdev Limited.
The acquisition is being made solely for Diamond I stock and is expected to close in the very near future. Las Vegas Sands Corp. recently announced a long-term agreement with Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of the global financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald, to provide mobile gaming services to The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the currently under-construction Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino.
The agreement provides that Cantor will be the exclusive provider of mobile gaming services to Las Vegas Sands properties in Nevada and in other jurisdictions where permitted by law.
