Annie Duke To Giveaway World Series Of Poker Main Event Seat Today
The World series of Poker is right around the corner, less than a week away, and Annie duke is giving one lucky player a chance to win a seat in the main event. Duke is holding a charity poker tournament to benefit the After-School All-Stars program started by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The tournament will be held at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. The entry fee will be $250, but it comes with the chance to win the main event entry worth $10,000. Several other prizes will be awarded, with all proceeds going to the charity.
Players will be permitted to re-buy for an additional $100, giving them a better chance to win the $10,000 main event entry fee and helping a charitable foundation in the process. All poker players are encouraged to try their luck in this event.
Duke is expected to be in Las Vegas for the WSOP this upcoming week. The popular poker pro has won the National Heads-Up Championship and has her sights set on having a strong run through the WSOP this year.
The charity tournament that will begin at 6:30 PM this evening will have several high profile celebrities in attendance. Duke has used her poker prowess to bring together some of the top names in poker and entertainment for what is expected to be a star-studded evening.
The WSOP gets under way next week, with the casino employee tournament kicking off the festivities. The events will unfold over the next couple of months, leading to the Main Event final table in November.
