Annual Poker Run Happening Tomorrow
Gold Country Lions will be hosting its "Gold Run 2006" Motorcycle Poker Run Saturday, featuring a 90-mile ride through the foothills of western Nevada County and will include stops at three state park sites. Participants will travel on less traveled, country roads and highways through green fields of wild flowers, ranchlands, vineyards and several small towns of the Gold Rush era.
Along the way expect to see long horn cattle, llamas and a variety of other livestock. The ride will feature three of its poker hand stops at Bridgeport, site of the world?s longest, single-span, wooden-truss, covered bridge, Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, featuring the historic town of North Bloomfield and dramatic hydraulic mine site and the old South Yuba River Bridge at Highway 49.
