Asia Pacific Poker Tour Ends With PE Teacher Winning One Million Dollars
Poker tours are growing in number, and that means the number of millionaires that come out of these tours is also growing. Yesterday, the newest member of this poker millionaire club emerged.
Grant Levy, a physical education teacher from Sydney, defeated 561 other entrants to win the first Asia pacific Poker Tour held at Star City.
The buy in for the tournament was $6,000. Levy took the money and it ends up invested it wisely. He defeated four former World champions on his way to the title.
Levy claims he has no real strategy behind his play. He mainly just used his instincts to carry him to the tournament win. The game lasted for three days and sometimes ran all the way till dawn.
"I love teaching. It's a passion. i love poker, it's a great hobby. I get so excited when I sit down to play. People can lose passion for their jobs and I don't want poker to become work," was Levy's reply when asked if he would quit his job.
He has only played poker for two years before winning the inaugural Asia Pacific tournament.
