Professional Player Josh Arieh On Poker Strategy
We see on TV many different professional poker players, and there's an associated mystique about that. Is making a living playing poker simply a matter of consistently winning smaller pots from the "gamblers" bad play in cash games, or do the large tournaments with huge prize pools account for the biggest percentage of income?
I believe it's a mixture of both. The live cash games with juicy players are what we call our "bread and butter," this is where we make our day-to-day money. The tournaments are where we take the big leap and get ahead of the game with a big win. If you can stay afloat until that big win comes along, it will be a sweet payday when you finally catch that big break.
