Carnival Cruise Lines Chooses PokerTek
PokerTek Inc., a manufacturer of electronic poker tables has signed a 3-year deal to provide video poker tables to Carnival Cruise Lines, the world's largest cruise operator.
The exact financial terms of the contract between the 2 companies were not disclosed.
Carnival initially had a PokerPro table installed on its Carnival Victory ship in April and, based on its success, decided to have the table installed on more of its ships as scheduling allowed.
PokerTek shares gained 58 cents, or 7%, at $8.69 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq. Carnival fell 76 cents, or 2 percent, to $38.96 on the NYSE.
