Casino Employees Arrive For First World Series Of Poker Event
The 2010 World Series of Poker has arrived and casino employees from all across the world have started to filter into Las Vegas. The casino employees will kick off the festivities with a $500 buy-in tournament beginning on Friday.
The first weekend of the WSOP this year is filled with interesting events for both players and spectators. Poker players will converge on the Rio Hotel & Casino Saturday for a No-Limit Hold'em tournament that features a $1,000 buy-in.
On Sunday, the first Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better event will begin. The tournament carries a $1,500 buy-in, and will run through Tuesday. As the WSOP heads into next week, many more tournaments will begin to overlap each other.
For spectators, the tournament to watch this weekend is The Poker Player's Championship. The tournament is a five day event, and offers all of the top games in poker rolled into one event. The buy-in for this monumental tournament is $50,000, and most of the top pros will be in attendance.
Last year, Phil Ivey made a run to the final table of the Main Event that captured the attention of millions of poker fans. This year, Ivey will be met in Vegas with a new high roller poker room that was named after him in the Aria Casino at CityCenter.
Today and tomorrow will serve as days where players can get used to their surroundings in Sin City. Several party's and other get together events will be held to make players comfortable with the idea of playing on the big stage.
