Eric Seidel Falls Short In Bid For Bracelet Nine At WSOP
Eric Seidel has been one of the most successful card players in World Series of Poker history. He has already won eight WSOP bracelets, and seemed poised to win his ninth this week.
Seidel was at the final table of Event #43, a Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better tournament. He entered the day in second place in the chop count, but could not get any momentum built.
He finished the tournament in fourth place, coming up just shy of his ninth bracelet. Martin Klaser took home the top prize in the tournament. He won $216,249. Casey Castle finished in second place and Michael Fetter in third, winning $137,985 and $83,538, respectively.
Jesse Chinni has the chip lead at the final table of Event #44, a No-Limit Hold'em w/ReBuys tournament. Chinni has 2,160,000 to Rene Mouritsen's 1,007,000. The buy in for the event was $1,000 and it had 879 entrants.
Other tournaments that are still going on include a World Championship H.O.R.S.E. event and a No-Limit Hold'em/Six Handed tournament.
Only one tournament is set to begin today, another No-Limit Hold'em event with a $2,000 buy in. On Saturday a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament will begin.
