European Poker Event Creating a Buzz
Today in a press release, Party Poker publicized the all-new German Open, a European poker tournament that starts this Tuesday in London. PartyPoker is sponsoring the event, which features 36 top German speaking poker players and personalities.
The first place winner will take home around 50,000 euros. The buy-in is 2,500 euros, creating a total prize package of over 117,000 euros. PartyPoker is chipping in a large chunk of the up-front money.
The famous Germans comprising the Celebrity table are Rudiger Abramzik, Klaus Baumgart, Lou Richter, Uli Stein, and Ramon Vega. The winner of this group will earn a spot in the main tournament and go head-to-head with a real poker professional.
Some of the top professional poker players participating are Mike Keiner, Lothar Landaur and Eddie Scharf, players who've had success at top international poker tournaments.
According to PartyPoker, "There will be others competing as well, individuals who've honed their skills online at PartyPoker.com and this will be their 1st opportunity to experience the live poker environment."
