While the city of Cleveland and other areas of Ohio decide whether or not to legalize casinos, there is a legal form of gambling in the state that is being attacked. Robbers walked away with $11,000 on Monday after they raided a home poker game in Cleveland.

The robbers came masked and approached a man who was outside of the apartment where the poker game was being played. They came equipped with assault rifles and entered the apartment where they proceeded to rob the players at the game.

The players were ordered to remove their pants and hand over their wallets. The robbers then took all the money on the table, doused card players with pepper spray, and made off with the $11,000. It was an organized effort to attack a card game that had been advertised on the Internet.

In Cleveland, home poker games in which gambling is involved are legal. The law states that as long as the house does not take a cut of the winnings and does not charge a fee for playing, then the game is legal.

This is the second big heist at a home poker game in Cleveland in less than a year. The other heist was even bigger than the one on Monday, with robbers walking away with over $75,000 in cash. These high stakes poker games are common in places around the country where the gambling is legal.
