Make no mistake about it, J.C. Tran is one of the most feared poker players in the world. Although he had never won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker, he still has cashed in over $6 million in winnings in his career.

His legacy changed on Monday. Tran finally captured the elusive World Series of Poker bracelet in Event #49, a No-Limit Hold'em tournament with a $1,500 buy in.

"The whole way, I didn't really think about the money, I just thought about the bracelet. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what first place pays. I just wanted the bracelet," said Tran. Tran will be happy to know that in addition to the bracelet, he won $631,053 in prize money.

The final table position for Tran was a good one. he came into that table in second place in the chip count behind Rasmus Mielson. "Rasmus is a great player. I didn't like the fact I was out-chipped...and I didn't know what to do. I came out and I tested a little bit. I tried to be aggressive, tried to be passive. And cards helped. I was on the right side of the cards this time," said Chan.

It was an impressive field that Tran took out on his way to the title. @,718 players entered the tournament. Nielsen took home second place prize money of $389,557. Up until Monday, Tran had been successful in the WSOP in the past, but never was able to win a bracelet.
