Jeff Lisandro is battling nobody but history in his quest to do something that no player has ever done. Lisandro already has won three WSOP bracelets this year, and he has now started strongly at the Main Event.

Lsiandro's rise in the early stages of the main event came mostly from a showdown with Sirous Jamshidi. Lisandro held six-four of diamonds, to Jamshidi's pocket threes. The flop came out jack-five-three, giving Lisandro the open ended straight draw and Jamshidi the thrip threes.

They both exchanged bets, and went to the turn. The turn came out seven of hearts, completing Lisandro's straight. Jamshidi checked, Lisandro bet 1,100 and Jamshidi went all-in. Lisandro called, and took down the big pot when nothing hit on the river. That put him in sixth place in the chip count with 50,500.

Sunday was extpected to be the biggest day at the Main Event in terms of players starting. The first couple of days had drawn over a thousand players, but Sunday was the day that most players were targeting to make their entrance.

Among the celebrity players that have already entered, Jason Alexander has made the biggest splash. Alexander won a big pot in the middle of his first day, and finished the day with 89,975 chips. That put him in position to compete.

Alexander was joined in the field by fellow celebrities Orel Hershiser, Nelly, Brad Garrett, and Jennifer Tilly, who has become a well-known poker player. Alexander has moved on to the second day of play and is hoping to outlast his celebrity friends.
