Live Fireworks Online As Bettors Flock To Poker Sites

Thousands of gamblers flocked to the biggest gaming destinations in the US on Sunday to catch firework displays in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Other gamblers, however, stayed home and played at online casinos while watching live fireworks online.

One of the advantages of the Internet may also be considered to be a crutch by some people who enjoy the great outdoors. The Internet has provided Americans with a chance to watch fireworks at various locations live, instead of having these people leave their homes to watch the displays.

Online casinos have become popular in recent years, and some US residents spent Sunday playing online poker. When the time came to celebrate in the evening, the gamblers simply changed their screens to the live fireworks display that was broadcast from Macy's in New York.

"I used to go out to the park and watch the fireworks," said Marion Beldrey, "but now that I have gotten older, I like to watch the fireworks on my computer. This way, I don't have to deal with all the traffic and the hot weather outside."

Beldrey was not one of the poker players that was online on Sunday, although various tournaments were being held at some of the biggest online poker sites in the world. The Fourth of July weekend is usually slow for online gambling sites, but this year may have been different due to bad weather in much of the country.

Online poker sites will have a decrease in customers this week thanks to the World series of Poker. The main event begins today, and there will be three additional day ones on Tuesday through Thursday at the Rio in Las Vegas.
