Luis Velador Becomes World Series Of Poker Bracelet Winner
The World Series of Poker has one signature tournament, the main event No-Limit Hold'em tournament in July. Throughout the Series, however, there are many smaller No-Limit Hold'em tournaments with $1,500 buy ins.
One of those tournaments has recently ended and that is good news for Luis Velador. He became the latest No-Limit bracelet owner after defeating Anthony Signore heads up to win the title.
Velador won $574,734 for capturing the crown. Signore took home a nice second place prize of $366,387. The tournament was loaded with amateurs with many of the pros playing in other events.
One of those pros was Chris (Jesus) Ferguson. He was trying to win a bracelet in the World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better tournament. Ferguson was playing well throughout the tourney, but came up short in second place, winning $202,406.
Sebastian Ruthenberg emerged as the victor in the tournament. He paid $5,000 for his buy in, and walked away from the table with $328,756. There were 261 total entrants into the event. Annie Duke finished in fifth place. Howard Lederer and David Benyamine finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
Four tournaments including a No-Limit event and a Seven Card Stud tournament are still ongoing. A Pot-Limit Hold'em event has also started today, with only one tournament set to start on Saturday.
