Miami Man Turning Poker Frustration Into Up and Coming Business
A man from Miami was sick of being left out of poker tournaments because he could not get out of work, now he's come up with an online tournament entry service that is being used at The Trump Taj Majal in Atlantic City.
Fabricio Schaffrath is the inventor of a new program that is being used by Trump's Atlantic City casino. The concept is simple, instead of having to wait in line to enter a tournament when you arrive at a casino, you can sign up over the internet and arrive when the tournament starts.
A credit card will be used to save your seat in the tournament of your choice, meaning you can arrive just before starting time. The downfall to the service is that there is a 3 to 6 percent fee of the buy in for signing up online. The fee is similar to the ones that Ticketmaster uses for providing their ticket service.
The name of the website is ptseats.com and there have been nearly 100 people that have enjoyed the service so far.
Currently only The Trump Casino is using the service but Schaffrath claims that other Atlantic City casinos are interested and that he eventually would like to expand the business to Las Vegas.
The concept is one that will surely save the casinos time and one that will most likely be seen in all casinos sometime down the road.
