Monster Lineup For NBC's National Heads Up Poker Championship

Scotty Nguyen will be there. So will Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, and Daniel Negreanu. In fact, anyone who is anyone in the world of professional poker will be playing in NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Cahmpionship.

The bracket style tournament, which runs similar to the NCAA College Basketball championship tournament, will start with sixty-four participants. Players will face off against each other heads-up until one of them is crowned the champion.

"This is one of the best poker tournaments every year because players will be playing one on one against each other. It becomes a battle of wills combined with the extraordinary skills many of these pro players possess.

It will not only be pros participating in the tournament. Four players will come from online qualifiers, and another two will come from the host casino, Caesars Palace. Five celebrities will be playing as well.

Ferguson will again be the favorite to take home the title. He won last years event and has an unbelievable 16-3 record in the tournament over the past four years. Even though he will be favored, there will be dozens of pros looking to take the title away from him this year.

The tournament will run from March 5th through the 8th. A $1.5 million prize pool has been set for the tournament, but it will be the bragging rights of beating their fellow pros that brings out the best players in the world year after year.
