NBC Gives Poker Fans Something to Smile About
Yesterday, as President Bush was signing legislation that will disrupt approximately 20 million online poker players, poker fans were celebrating a new TV series that will air on NBC starting next season. The new show, called "Poker After Dark", will air at 2am, 6 nights per week beginning in January.
According to several entertainment companies covering the press release, this is NBC's method of catching up to other stations that have enjoyed the boost of televised poker.
Actress Shana Hiatt will be the show's host, featuring 6 pro poker players competing for a $120,000 prize.
According to NBC, "every show will focus on one table as it develops over the week, concluding with a winner on Friday night. Then on Saturday, they will recap the entire week and offer the winner special commentary."
