New Legalized Online Poker Coming To The United States
In the United States, the government likes to believe that playing poker online is illegal. While the activity is not illegal, companies are still finding ways to ensure that there is no confusion whether their games are legal of illegal.
Carlyle Gaming & Entertainment Ltd. announced on Thursday that they will be launching a poker game that has already been declared legal in several states. The game is called PokerTwin.
PokerTwin will be launched at pokertwin.com in the third quarter of 2008. The most exciting part of the game is that it will be openly available to players in the United States.
The game is marketed as a game of skill. Carlyle Gaming has taken the game of Texas Hold'em and removed anything that was perceived as luck. Only a players skill will be used to determine how they do at the tables.
The way the game works is two players are dealt the exact same hands, but they are sitting at two corresponding seats at two different tables. The way the players play those hands in accordance to how the other player plays them, will determine how well they do.
By removing the luck of the draw, the company has come up with a way that they can allow only skill to be involved in the game. The game has already been deemed legal in both California and New York.
