November Nine Gear Up For WSOP Main Event Final Table Next Month
Of all the players that will be participating in next months World series of Poker Main Event final table, Phil Ivey would be the last one that should be concerned about how he will play. The pressure of the final table and the millions that can be won, however, are equal for all players.
Ivey may have been in pressure situations before, but none of the magnitude that he will face when he stares down eight other players in early November. Even for Ivey, the final table at the WSOP Main Event, will be a fascinating challenge.
The nine players that will be competing next month all have their eyes on the grand prize of $8,546,435. The player in the best statistical position to win that first place money and a WSOP Main Event bracelet is Darvin Moon. he has almost 60,000,000 chips.
Eric Buchman is second, with $34,800,000. Steven Begleiter is third with just under 30,000,000. From there, the chip stacks fall off. Jeff Shulman has 19,580,000, and Joseph Cada is sitting with 13,215,000 chips. Kevin Schaffel will start play with 12,390,000 chips.
Ivey was close to coming into the final table as the short stack, but he used his savvy play get into seventh position before the nine player table was complete. Ivey will start with 9,765,000, well off the pacesetter.
Antoine Saout is right behind Ivey with 9,500,000 chips. Saout had a strong showing at the WSOP Europe Maine Event recently. The low stack at the table is James Akenhead. He will be trying to overcome a chip stack of 6,800,000.
