November Nine Ready To Resume Chase For WSOP Main Event Bracelet
It has been months since the nine players at the World Series of Poker Main Event final table have been competing in the Rio in Las Vegas, so any momentum they might have had is now gone. That will not stop them, however, from trying to once again find their groove.
On Saturday, the long-anticipated final table resumes, and nine players will be looking to win the top prize of $8,546,435. On the line also is a coveted Main Event bracelet that will forever put one of these players among the greatest of all time.
Of course, one of the players competing is already considered by many to be the best poker player in the US. It is no wonder, then, that Phil Ivey has made it this deep into the tournament. Ivey will start in seventh position in the chip count with just under ten million chips.
The chip leader when play resumes will be Darvin Moon. He has played almost flawlessly throughout the tournament, and is holding over fifty-eight million chips. Eric Buchman is second with just under thirty-five million.
James Akenhead will be starting from the short stack position. Akenhead is the only player with a chip count of under seven million. A couple of hands is all it will take to vault him back into contention.
There is a large discrepancy between the first place prize and ninth. The bottom five players that finish will all leave with under two million dollars. The top four are all guaranteed over two and a half million.
