Online Poker Bad Beat Jackpots Keep Players Coming Back
Bad beat jackpots can be a monumental attraction for players and a useful tool for casinos to attract those players. Online casinos are no exception as these jackpots can reach high money payouts.
UltimateBet is one of those online poker providers that recently started a bad beat jackpot on their site, and this week, the jackpot of $112,885.50 was hit.
The player who won the most of that money was the player that lost the hand, that player held quad jacks, and lost to a straight flush, meaning the quad jack player won $36,678.03.
The player with the straight flush won the pot, and, $18,339.01, not a bad hand. The rest of the players at the table won $1,000 each, and, in a twist on normal bad beat jackpots, the website also paid out $18,000 for the other 337 players who were online playing at that price level to split evenly.
Live poker rooms are usually filled at certain times when the bad beat jackpot gets above a certain number, usually $100,000.
The Seminole Indian Casino in Coconut Creek, Florida is one of those casinos where the amount of players increase drastically when the bad beat gets high.
Patron John Kubel echoed this sentiment when asked about the bad beat, "I play here on an average of once to twice a week, but when the bad beat gets up over $85,000, I do tend to play four to five times a week until the jackpot is hit."
The bad beat criteria for winning changes from casino to casino, but UltimateBet requires that a player holds quad eights or better and loses the hand.
