Online Poker Rooms Top the 600 Room Mark
There is a huge growth spurt going on in the industry of online poker asthe industry on a whole has topped the 600 mark in available online gambling rooms.
Recent television exposure, the Popularity of The World Series of Poker, and celebrity commercials are fueling the huge expansion to an industry that just seems to be getting larger and larger.
By this time next year the industry is expected to triple the revenue that it now collects.
Most of this revenue is generated by the rakes. The rake is the houses cut of each playing hand. So naturually, the more rooms that open, the more hands being dealt, the more hands being dealt the more rakes taken in, and the more rakes taken in, the more revenue generated.
Another factor key to the growing popularity of these poker rooms is the companies tremendous ability to keep their customers coming back. So in addition to the hundreds of thousands of new customers they are generating, they are just adding to their already huge client base.
Though Poker has been around for hundreds of years, the online poker boom is in its infant stages. A few years back, only about a dozen or so poker rooms existed online. at its current growth stage there will be over 1000 online poker rooms by the year 2010.
