Poker After Dark Brings Six Heavyweights To The Table This Week
Poker After Dark has always prided itself on bringing together some of the top professional poker players in the world, and then putting them in high stakes situations to battle it out for all the money. This week was no different for the show on NBC.
This week, PAD has brought together some of the top live game players in the history of poker, and also the man that has been tearing up the online poker scene. They were put in a cash game where they had to bring at least $100,000 to the table, and no more than $250,000.
Anytime these type stakes are on the table, rest assured that Phil Ivey will be in the mix. Ivey, fresh off his final table appearance at the WSOP Main Event, is joined by other greats such as Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. Patrick Antonius and Gus Hansen are also among the participants.
One of the players has made his fortune on the Internet. Tom Dwan is an online poker pro, and has been fairing well since he has moved to the live games. This week, however, he will be competing against the best of the best.
The PAD episodes this week so far have featured some odd bets by these players. There have been prop bets that have moved the games along when they started to drag. At one point, the group played a hand blind, and Negreanu suggested they should do it every hour. Ivey responded by saying they should do it every couple of minutes.
The show runs on NBS nightly at 2:05 AM. On Saturday, a director's cut of the week's action can be seen. Negreanu, Ivey, and Hellmuth have spiced up the action with their prop bets, and the world is waiting to see the outcome in the next three episodes.
