Poker Bad Beat Jackpot At Coconut Creek Casino Reaches $170,000

The bad beat jackpot at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino in South Florida is approaching $200,000. It has gotten to the point at the casino where people are coming from all over the state to chase the large jackpot.

The jackpot currently stands at just over $170,000. Usually, anytime the bad beat gets up over $100,000 is when players start filtering in from other casinos.

The closest casino to Coconut Creek is the Isle over at Pompano Park. Many of the regular players at the Isle have infiltrated Coconut Creek, causing long lines for players to wait on to get to a table.

On any given night over at Coconut Creek there are two to four tables that are not in use. that is not the case the past couple of weeks. Every table is taken up and for as small as the poker room is, it is tough having lists of twenty or more players waiting to play.

"It has been crazy. All of us regulars here are just hoping the bad beat gets hit sometime soon. Then all these people can go back to their regular casinos and we can have ours back," said Tommy Strifon, a Creek poker player regular.

Others are happy about players from other casinos showing up. "I think it's cool that we have other players coming in. I'm used to seeing the same players all the time and it's nice to play with some different people,' said Fran Derskowitz.
