Poker Machines With Time And Spending Limits Coming To Victoria

The Victorian government is pulling the biggest gambling hypocrisy. They will help gamblers control their habit, but will still allow them to lose money to help fund Victoria.

Many people do not possess the proper will power to control their gambling habits. A new concept in casino gambling will help those who have a difficult time controlling themselves.

Gaming Minister Tony Robinson has outlined a plan to put time and spending limits on poker machines in casinos. The move would not be mandatory. Not immediately, at least.

"Well every machine will have an option where that's possible(limits), whether or not that's mandated will depend in part upon the technical advice we get," said Robinson.

The government will also be using a new advertising campaign in which problem gambling will be the focus. The new innovations are a bit hypocritical. The government is claiming they want to help with addiction, but are still allowing gamblers to feed their habit.

The money generated from casino gambling is necessary to help the Victorian budget. There are several opponents to the move to impose voluntary limits. "The Victorian Government's the biggest problem gambler of all and that ought to be the warning sign if there's going to be one," said Ted Baillieu, the Opposition Leader.
