Poker Pushing Its Way Into Search Bliss Among Lycos Users

There is no doubting that poker is one of the biggest phenomenons of the current generation. According to Lycos users, it is even bigger than Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and YouTube.

The television coverage of some of the biggest poker tournaments in the world has resulted in a blitz online of people trying to find out more information about the game. It has become the most searched game of skill on the Internet.

Lycos users are particularly fascinated with the game of poker. For the third year in a row, poker is the most searched for term among their users. That is ahead of Paris Hilton, who is second and YouTube, which is third.

The top ten is filled with celebrity women. Spears, Sarah Palin, Pamela Anderson, and Holly Madison are all at the top of the search terms, but none was able to overtake poker for the top spot.

Poker was also at the top in the fads department. The game has been popular now for several years, making it more of an institution these days than a fad. It beat out true fads such as Facebook and Craigslist.

Interestingly enough, four decades after they took the United States by storm, and with two of its members having already passed on, the Beatles were still receiving love from web surfers. They were the number two most searched band of 2008.
