Poker World Has a New Phenom Named Jordan
Normally the Trent Tucker Youth Charity Event in Minneapolis focuses on playing golf and showcasing NBA stars in order to raise money, but this year the focus was on tournament-style and very competitive Texas Hold 'em. The charity poker tournament was held at the Canterbury Card Casino and plenty of stars were there to support the cause.
Over 100 players entered the Texas Hold 'em tournament, including former NBA star Michael Jordan. As it turns out, Jordan was the chip leader for most of the night. In one hand, he was seen calling a $4,000 big blind bet. He then staggered in late with a pair of aces. His style was extremely sophisticated according to observers.
Mr. Jordan took home the championship as he won the $25,000 grand prize by winning the tournament. Of course, he donated the money right back to the charity after he won. It was Jordan's first ever win in a public poker tournament, and if he chooses to, he appears ready to take the industry by storm. Imagine the success if he played professionally on the World Series of Poker Tour. Jordan has been successful in most of his life's endeavors, why not professional poker?
