PokerStars Branches Out With Sponsorship Of High Heels Poker Tour

The High Heels Poker Tour was founded to empower women. That is how they describe the tour, at least. Women poker players who can compete at a high level on the poker table against each other, with no men involved.

That premise has served the tour well, and now they have a big time sponsor to go along with their catch name. PokerStars has signed on as a sponsor for the High Heels Poker Tour. They will become the official sponsor of the tour.

This could lead to big things from the High heels Tour. They already have been successful in bringing more women into the game of poker, and now with PokerStars pushing their events, the tour has an opportunity to expand women's poker even beyond its current state throughout the world.

"PokerStars has all the attributes in an online partner that female players crave, an incredible variety of quick, entertaining games..., all in an environment where women can learn the game, develop their skills, and truly become champions," said Lauren Failla, founder of the High Heels Poker Tour.

With PokerStars backing the tournament, there is likely to be an increase in the tournament schedule. As it stands now, the tour will be heading to New York and Florida in the coming months. In January of 2010, the tour season will conclude with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure ladies $1,000 buy-in event.
