PokerStars Bringing Largest Poker Tournament To Asia

The Asian territory of Macau has already become the casino gambling capital of the world. Now it appears that they are setting their sites on breaking records in the world of poker.

PokerStars.net is bringing a group of poker champions so large that it has never been duplicated to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour. They are sending twenty top poker champions to the tournament in hopes of one of them winning the big tournament.

APPT Macau is already expected to be the largest poker tournament in Asia, and now they will have the fire power of some top professionals to go along with over 500 entrants.

The tournament will be held over a nine day period. September 1st is the starting date and the chances are strong that a pro emerges as the champion of the event.

"It's great for poker in Asia that there's a major tournament like this here in Macau. It's attracting all of the top players in the sport, and letting the world know that there is real poker, real poker players, and that anybody can win millions of dollars," said Johnny Chan, who will be taking part in the event.

PokerStars.net is also glad to have some of the top professionals taking place in their tournament. "We are excited to have so many of the world's top players coming to the Grand Waldo Casino in Macau this year," said President of PokerStars.net APPT Jeffrey Haas.
