PPA to Hold Rally to Protest WA State Online Gambling Ban

Poker and Online Gambling is Not a Crime:
PPA to Hold Rally outside King County Superior Court
WHAT:
Legislation, signed into law by Governor Chris Gregorie, makes the over 800,000 Washington citizens who play poker felons if they play online – on par with child pornography and heroin possession.
Lee Rousso, the Poker Players Alliance’s (PPA) Washington State Director, will present his case to the King Country Superior Court on May 15th, and the PPA will hold a rally and press conference outside the courthouse immediately following the hearing.
Russo is challenging the constitutionality of the law, arguing that it violates the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution, which reserves to Congress the right to regulate interstate and international commerce. Most state attempts to regulate the Internet run afoul of the Commerce Clause, and Washington's law should be no exception.
Top poker stars Andy Bloch and Barry Greenstein will join with Washington State members of the PPA at the rally to show their support for Rousso's efforts to keep poker legal.
Interviews are available.
