Province OKs Poker Tour
Nally has been selected to do the dealin? at the upcoming poker tournament hosted by the LdB Community Centre.
There?s new hope for public poker games in the North Eastman region, now that the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission has given the go-ahead for a new fundraiser being spearheaded by the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. The centre will be holding a Texas hold-em poker tournament later this month as part of the provincial government?s new pilot project that will allow some poker tournaments to go ahead as fundraisers for the remainder of May. ?There?s an awful lot of interest in the game these days,? centre board member and event organizer Brian Arnason said. Lac du Bonnet resident Ritch Nally has been chosen by the centre to run the tournament, a fitting choice considering Nally?s recent experience with provincial gaming laws.
