Ray Romano Makes It To Day Two Of Main Event At WSOP
Ray Romano has made the majority of his money by being a wise cracking comedian. He has starred in his own show and become one of the funniest men in America.
Players at the World Series of Poker's Main Event are learning that they had better take Roman seriously. He made it into day two with just over 60,000 chips.
Romano has been seen on television playing in various tournaments. He knows the game of poker, and used his knowledge to gain himself a healthy chip count heading into his day two on Monday.
While Romano had a successful first day, another comedian fell short in his bid to make it to day two. Jason Alexander from Seinfeld was busted out in his attempt to become a World Series of Poker champion.
Two other celebrities also made their way to the exits on the tournaments first day. ER star Mekhi Pfifer and NHL player Brad May both lost all their chips in day one. They will both now have to watch fellow star Romano try and move along in the tournament.
"I really wanted to make it to day two. I am just very competitive by nature. I just wanted to make it to day two, that was my goal. I got a little bit of advice from a friend who finished 100th last year. I played tight as hell and I got a couple of hands and I made a little bit of money, but I could have made more money. I fell asleep reading Doyle Brunson's book last night," said Romano.
