Three More Poker Tournaments End at The WSOP in Las Vegas
So far at the World Series of poker at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, not many of the professionals, with the exemption of Phil Hellmuth, are taking home the bracelets, and that trend has continued with three more champs being crowned.
In event #19, a $2500 No Limit hold'em tournament, Francois Safieddine won first placeand the hefty payout of $521,785 that goes with it. John Phan, not to be confused with Johnny Chan, took home second and $330,846.
Tournament #20 was a $2000 Seven Card Stud High/Low 8 or Better event. the winner of the bracelet in this one was Ryan Hughes. He also took home $176,358. Min Woo Lee finished runner up and claimed $97,461. Greg Raymer, a past main event champion continues his impressive run this year by once again placing, this time he finished 4th and won $41,460.
We almost had another pro make his mark on this years tournament, but Daniel Negreanu, considered one of the best in the world, fell short and finished in 3rd in event #21, a No Limit Hold'em Shoot Out. He made $101,351. the winner of the event who denied Negreanu, was Donald Baruch, claiming the $264,107 first prize. Jared Davis took second and $149,263.
Currently, there are three events in progress, #'s 22,23, and 24. Two more are set to get under way today.
