Tiffany Michelle Looking To Make History At World Series of Poker
Tiffany Michelle was interviewing players from the World Series of Poker Main Event last year for PokerNews. This year, she is one of the players being interviewed, and she is also the last woman standing at this year's Main Event.
Michelle is trying to become only the second woman ever to make it to the final table at the WSOP Main Event. She not only has survived the early rounds of the competition, but she has thrived in them.
Coming into the day, there were only twenty seven players left from a field of over 6,500 players. Michelle is third in terms of chip stacks, and has plenty to make a run at not only the final table, but also at winning the whole tournament.
Michelle is relying on her age to bring more women into the game of poker. "To be a young chick that's good at poker, to kind of break the stereotype of the women that are already in poker is very cool. It's not a young woman's game," she said.
Barbara Enright is the only woman to ever make it to a final table at the Main Event. Annie Duke came close several years back, but busted out in tenth place.
Still, Michelle is enjoying the ride. "I just thought about it for two seconds today, again I'm not getting ahead of myself and go there because I don't want the pressure. But that (final table) would be so cool," she said.
