Underwater Poker Tournament Will Be Held On Labor Day Weekend
First there was texas hold 'em tournaments, then the World Series of Poker Championships, then poker rooms popping up at every casino and bar near you, then poker on TV, more tournaments, new underground stars being born, more TV coverage, bigger Championships, online poker, poker leagues, and now, to add to the poker phenomenon that is spinning wildy out of control, underwater poker.
At the Lakes State Park in New Mexico there will be an underwater poker tournament to highlight their third annual Bottomless Bubblefest celebration.
The tournament will be held Septemeber 2-4 while the Labor Day weekend annual event takes place. It is not a typical poker game, it is not even Texas Hold 'em, but it is poker none-the-less.
Park rangers will toss two decks of weighted playing cards into the lake. Divers will then swim to the cards and search for the best five card hand they can find. The diver to emerge from the lake with the best hand wins.
The poker phenomenon continues.
