Video Poker Outlets Being Investigated in Dublin, Georgia

The video poker craze is so strong around the United States and the World, that players can find these machines in all kinds of everyday life facilities.

In Dublin, Georgia, the machines apparently have been in convenience stores and gas stations, and when people started losing to much money in these machines, the complaints came rolling in.

Once the complaints came in to the local television stations and news organizations, such as The Courier Herald, they were handed over to the police, who then did their investigation and Wednesday afternoon, served search warrants to many of the stores in question.

People from the town were concerned when they saw yellow tape blocking off some of their everyday stops, such as gas stations and mini marts, but it was later identified that what was happening was the police were serving warrants.

The police investigation has been going on for several months and the findings were, that several places were, indeed, in violation of state laws. The laws state that possessing these video poker machines, "even for amusement purposes", is illegal.

Several people were arrested and Sheriff Bill Harrell said that more information would be available on Friday.
