Wales Becoming The New Poker Capital of The World, According To Survey

When people think of poker, the World Series of Poker comes to mind. The WSOP is held in Las Vegas, so it is natural to assume that the U.S. city is the center of the poker universe.

A recent report, however, shows that it is Wales who currently has the highest amount of people playing within the country.

Of The Welsh people who participated in the survey, thirty one percent admitted they had played poker at least once in the past year.

In the same survey, twenty two percent of English people say they played at least once. The Brits were not much higher, with only twenty seven percent admitting to playing.

The controlled environment has enabled players in Wales to enjoy the game of poker as it should be, a recreational activity.

GamCare is a gambling charity in Wales and a spokesman had this to say, "Our concern is that people do not get into difficulty, and the extent to which people are playing in a responsible manner in a socially responsible environment, keeping their gaming and gambling under control."
