World Series of Poker Crowns Three More Champions in Vegas
For professional card players, the WSOP serves as a sort of vacation from the weekly traveling to play in tournaments around the world, but for those amateurs playing in the series, the everyday hustle and bustle can become a distraction.
Nonetheless, three more tournaments have concluded, and that means three more bracelets were handed out.
Event #16 was a $2500 buy in H.O.R.S.E. tournament and the winner was James Richberg. He was awarded $238,881 for winning the tournament. Walter Browne finished in second place, making $131,445.
The first ladies event of the series also concluded, a World Championship $1000 buy in No Limit Hold'em event. The winner of event #17 was Sally Boyer, she won $262,077, to go along with her championship bracelet. Anne Heft finished second, making $166,177. The event had 1286 entries and paid off the top 99.
Also concluding was event #18, a $5000 buy in Limit Hold'em tourney. Jard Getzoyan took home the top prize here, banking $333,379 for his victory. Geoff Sanford was the runner up and received $200,511.
Other events that are currently in progress are tournaments 19-22, with some big name players still alive in these tournaments.
Event #23 is set to begin later today.
